Adventure Tourism: Exploring Canada on Two Wheels

With more than enough roads to circle the planet 22 times, Canada is definitely one of the best countries for road trips. Thanks to e-bikes and cycling tours, you can make the west-to-east cross-country road trip on nothing other than a bike. This journey begins in Victoria or Vancouver, British Columbia and goes all the way to St. John's in Newfoundland. There's everything along the way, including mountains, lakes, rivers, national parks, heritage sites, restaurants, wineries, museums, malls, stores, gas stations, rest stops, campsites, and more. Here's an overview of what exploring a Canadian road trip on two wheels entails:

From the West Coast to the Prairies

Once your long-ride Harley is in prime condition, you can hit the roads, starting in Vancouver, BC. Cross-Canada e-bike or cycling trips typically start in BC, with stops on Vancouver Island, Tofino, Kelowna, Stanley Park, and Jasper National Park. Your trip then moves to wine country in Okanagan, then to Alberta, where you can explore the Rocky Mountains and the stunning Banff National Park. Other West Coast stops include Heritage Park Historical Village in Calgary. If you've had enough fun on the Pacific West Coast, you can move to the prairie provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Top destinations to rest your bike include Dinosaur Provincial Park in Drumheller, South Saskatchewan River, Riding Mountain National Park in Saskatoon, Falcon Beach and Whiteshell Provincial Park. Each city in the prairies has exciting locations for sightseeing, water sports, camping, and other outdoor adventures.

From Prairies to Eastern Canada

The eastern part of Canada is home to the two largest Canadian provinces: Ontario and Quebec. This part of North America exposes you to many top destinations you can hit with your HD electric motorcycle. Thunder Bay, Manitoulin Island, Toronto, Prince Edward County, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City are all lined up. Some things to do during your bike trip include exploring the Ouimet Canyon Provincial Park, kayaking the St. Mary’s River, hiking the Cabot and Cup and Sauce trails, and exploring beaches, caves and caverns in Tobermory. You should also visit the Toronto CN Tower and don't forget the day trip to Niagara Falls. Other stops include Sandbanks Provincial Park, the Canadian War Museum, the Port of Montreal, Quebec City, and the Marine Mammal Interpretation Centre. You can also explore mountain biking, kayaking, whale watching, or camping.

Across the Atlantic East Coast

Your cross-Canada trip will end on the Atlantic east coast, with rides through New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. You should have no problem getting to the East Coast if you have completed dyno tuning and other pre-trip services. This trip exposes you to waterfalls, water activities, national parks, historic sites, and more scenic drives. Top stops in the east coast include Fredericton, Bay of Fundy, Fundy National Park, Charlottetown, Annapolis Valley, Port Royal National Historic Site, Lake Louise, Halifax, Cape Breton Island, North Sydney, Gross Morne National Park, Elliston, and St. John's in Newfoundland. From PEI's colourful red sand beaches to the ocean playgrounds of Nova Scotia, the East Coast offers diverse sceneries that will delight any outdoor enthusiast. You can also take ferries for short trips while you rest your legs and bike.
